Who We Are

We are a group of Kingdom-minded partners working together to abolish extreme poverty and unleash the God-given potential of all people.

Our dream is for every church to lead the way in holistically transforming their community, beginning with our current focus in Malawi and Central America.

Today, Global Lift Collective is made up of the following organizations and churches:

What Holds Us Together

Embodying the Kingdom on Earth through mutual collaboration.

We’re a community that seeks to learn from each other and eliminate duplicate efforts—because we know we can accomplish more together than we ever could alone.

Equipping local churches to unleash human potential.

We believe the local church is the best institution to bring about transformation, so we seek highly scalable, church-based, and sustainable solutions that leverage local human and financial resources.

Embracing the challenge of patiently learning, adapting, and building trust.

We’re persistent. We think for the long term, adapt as we learn, and try new things. We seek feedback, learn from data, and extend the freedom to fail and learn.

If these values excite you, there’s a place for you in our community.

Our Story

2017 - 2019

HOPE International, World Relief, Tearfund, and Life.Church began to dream about how we might work together to see more churches resourced to transform their communities. Individually, we were already at work in Malawi, so we decided to come together and streamline our efforts by trying new ways of resourcing churches in that region.

2020

We selected Central America—specifically Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras—as a second strategic focus area for our efforts because of the violence and economic instability experienced in this region and the impact those issues have on migration to the United States. Tearfund and HOPE International were already active in this region, and ENLACE and Living Water International joined the collective.

2021 - 2022

We accelerated program integration and scaled up with our partners in Malawi and Central America. Northridge Church and Willow Creek Community Church joined the collective alongside Life.Church to forge a new kind of U.S. partnership as we learned from our international counterparts. Two collaborative grant funds—one for Malawi and another for Central America—were established to support the growing work in both areas.

2023

To support the increasing momentum of our work, we implemented a defined structure and chose a name for ourselves: Global Lift Collective. We crafted longer-term objectives to pursue together in Malawi, Central America, the United States, and the United Kingdom. We also expanded to include additional like-minded churches and individuals who believe in collective impact and want to help shape the future of our work.

2024-2025

We’ll equip 4,215 churches across six districts in Malawi, and 758 churches across Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala. These churches will, in turn, impact over 400,000 individuals in their communities. We’ll expand to include more like-minded churches and individuals in the US and UK who want to be a part of our community, learn along with us, and shape the future of the collective.

If you’d like to help shape the future of our story, there’s a place for you in the Collective.
